How can I recover deleted photos in my ipod touch?

My daughter owns a brand new iPod Touch 4th Generation. Last weekend she took a great deal of photos on it, and video from a convention.
Last night connected the iPod to her new laptop. Itunes was not set to sync photos or video, only her music library. When she connected the iPod, it synced. Upon syncing, it erased all her photos, except 2 she had taken that day, and erased 4 hours of video files.

There was no backup of these files on iTunes, as the iPod and computer were both fairly brand new. Is there any way to get back those deleted pictures on iPod? Please Help

How to recover deleted photos, videos from iPod Touch 4 / 5 on Mac?

For iPod Touch 5/4, you can extract iTunes backup content and retrieve deleted and lost photos and videos.

Step 1. Choose Recover from iTunes Backup File mode

After launching the program, just switch recovery mode to Recover from iTunes Backup File on the left menu. Then all the backup files will be listed on the program window. Here you don’t need to connect your iPod Touch device.

Download and extract the iCloud backup
When you log in, you’ll see the backup files are displayed as a list. Choose the one you need and click to download it. Once the download is complete, you can directly scan and extract the backup file.
